FMG Repair Services celebrates apprentice success at in-house skills competition

The best of the UK's apprentices are putting their vehicle repair skills to the test at FMG Repair Services' annual Apprentice Skills Competition.
The event, which spans three days during National Apprenticeship Week, celebrates excellence and drives inspiration across their technical apprentice cohort, taking place at their dedicated centre of excellence, the FMGRS Technical Training Centre in Goole.

The competition sees apprentices compete to showcase their skills across refinishing (Paint), Panel Repair and Mechanical Electrical and Trim, with the winners in each discipline announced on Friday.

Through its award-winning apprentice programme, FMG Repair Services continues its commitment to attracting, recruiting and developing fresh talent into the vehicle repair industry. Apprentices take part in a structured, supportive and dedicated apprenticeship programme and receive integral day to day support from assigned qualified mentors.

Paul Wrigglesworth, Managing Director at FMGRS said, "Apprentices play a vital role in the future of our business and indeed the whole industry, and there’s no better time to celebrate the talent, skill and dedication of this year’s apprenticeship cohort. A successful apprenticeship programme requires the support and dedication of a wide community and we’re proud of the many skilled and supportive individuals within FMGRS who deliver structured training, hands-on experience and mentorship to help our apprentices to thrive."

These efforts have resulted in exponential growth in the scheme, with 126 apprentices working in disciplines such as Paint, Panel, MET, VDA and Commercial roles.
